Musical Director Callie Hutchison

The CCYO music director is Callie Hutchison. Callie has been playing violin and viola for 20 years and has performed with everyone from the Tampa Opera to Frank Sinatra Jr. As a soloist and chamber musician she has performed recitals in London and various cities in the US, and has studied with such acclaimed teachers as Sally O’Reilly, Carolyn Stewart, Kala Ramnath and Margaret Pardee.

Hutchison finished her Doctorate at the University of Arizona, after attending colleges in Florida and Minnesota. She currently teaches violin, viola and string techniques to private students and at Cochise College.

Hutchison loves working with the students of the Cochise County Youth Orchestra. “Playing in a Youth Symphony was the highlight of my week while growing up. It challenged and broadened me musically, intellectually and socially. I am the musician I am today because of my experiences playing in the Minnesota Youth Symphony. I enjoy following in my director’s footsteps and bringing this experience to a whole new generation of young musicians.”
